OVERVIEW

King’s Cross Church exists to be a church family on mission with Jesus. The fact that we’re a “church family” is important. Being on mission with Jesus is not just something we do alone, but together with other Jesus followers.

Although the Bible gives no explicit commands to become a "member" of a local church, the Bible does implicitly assume we will be a member of a local church. In other words, there are simply no categories for living the Christian life outside of commitment to the local church.

Jesus is the head of the church, the church is his body, and each person is an indispensable member of it.

In Scripture, every follower of Christ moves into direct relationship with God's church.

King’s Cross Explored is our membership class designed to move people into the life of our church family.

The class looks at the beliefs, practices and direction of King’s Cross. It will help attendees understand the heartbeat of our church.

Attending King’s Cross Explored does not make you a member. It is an informational meeting covering the distinctives, leadership, and membership of King’s Cross Church. It is the first step in becoming a member.

OUR MEMBERSHIP PROCESS

The process usually goes as follows:

  • ATTEND KING’S CROSS EXPLORED: A prospective member attends King’s Cross Explored.

  • MEET WITH A LEADER: Upon completion of King’s Cross Explored, the prospective member meets with a leader for a personal interview.

  • MEMBERSHIP COVENANT: After the interview, the prospective member reads and signs the Membership Covenant.

  • PUBLIC AFFIRMATION: The new member is then presented to the congregation during one of our Sunday Services and publicly received into the King’s Cross Church family.

These classes happen a few times a year and take place after the Sunday Service (lunch provided.)
