King’s Cross, Core Beliefs

 

The scriptures

We believe the Holy Bible is inspired by God, authoritative, without error in the original writing and is divine instruction for all Christian life. It is God’s revelation of Himself to man. Therefore, we believe all scripture is true and trustworthy.

GOD THE FATHER

We believe there is one true God who is the Creator of all things, infinitely Holy and perfect. He is all all powerful and all knowing. The triune God reveals Himself to us as equally three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each with distinct attributes, but without division of essence or being.

JESUS, God the son

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of the virgin Mary. We believe Jesus was fully God, fully man and without sin. In Jesus’s sacrificial substitutionary death on the cross, he made provision for the redemption of man from sin. He was raised from the dead and ascended into heaven. We believe salvation is only through faith in Jesus Christ and that he will one day return to consummate his redemptive mission.

The HOly SPirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Trinity, is the Spirit of God and is fully divine. He indwells every believer from the moment of salvation and his presence is the guarantee that God will bring the believer into the fullness of stature of Christ. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption.

HUMANITY

Man is the special creation of God, made in His own image. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable man to fulfill the specific purposes of God. Christ died for man; therefore, every person of every race possesses full dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.

salvation

We believe salvation is the redemption of the whole man as they are brought into right relationship with God, fully forgiven and is if freely offered to all. We believe salvation is received by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We believe this faith commitments ones’ entire self to Jesus as Lord.
